Cheese Paratha recipe quick and easy

Cheese paratha quick recipe is perfect when, you are in a hurry and have wheat dough ready at hand , If not it won’t take more than fifteen minutes to make this dish from scratch . When you crave to have a paratha but too lazy to make an elaborate filling. This is a very quick cheese paratha recipe and is absolutely delicious.

Cheese paratha is the best dish to have it’s very easy and quick to make and a very simple recipe . It’s a wheat flour flat bread stuffed with grated processed cheese, onions and powdered spices, roasted with ghee ,and served with ketchup or any chutney  of your choice .

It is one of my personal favorite’s as it requires less and readily available ingredients . It is an absolutely delicious dish , you only have grate cheese add onions and powdered spices and add it as a stuffing to the dough and roll and roast it .

To make a variation you can also add add veggies of your choice like boiled corns, capsicum , or any other dry vegetable filling that you have ready you can also add that and make this paratha , But I like to keep it simple and here I am sharing the easiest and quick versions of cheese paratha recipe . you can have this paratha for breakfast , lunch and dinner . it goes well with curd and pickle or green chutney or any chutney of your choice.

I personally enjoy this paratha with ketchup and accompanied by Ginger tea .


  • Cheese – any processed cheese – about 1/2 cup – grated
  • Onion – 1 small size chopped
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  • Chopped Mint leaves – 1 tsp  or kasuri methi leaves – ½ tsp
  • Wheat dough – made by mixing 1cupwheat flour and water with 2 pinches of salt 
  • Oil or ghee to roast


To make the filling

Grate half a cup cheese of your choice in a bowl. I usually prefer to use processed cheese.

Add in one small size chopped onion , half teaspoon of salt , one teaspoon of red chilli powder ,one teaspoon of  garam masala powder , one teaspoon of coriander powder , one teaspoon of cumin powder , one teaspoon of chopped mint leaves. If you do not have mint leaves available you can also use dry fenugreek leaves or kasuri methi instead of mint leaves. In this recipe I have used mint leaves. Once all the ingredients are added to the cheese. Mix it well and combine everything all spices onions and cheese properly, this is the stuffing , keep it aside .

Mix it well so that the cheese and the spices mix and coat well.

To make the dough

Now take a lemon sized ball out of the wheat dough and roll it or open it to fill in the stuffing .

Just follow the dough making part not the entire recipe because that is the plain roti recipe . Here we have to make parathas . So just follow the instructions under “to make dough” in the Easiest everyday Roti recipe (Whole wheat flat bread) .

Once the dough is done you can then start following the rest of this recipe to make the cheese parathas.

Take a piece of dough , make it into a smooth ball with the help of your palms and then make a space or cavity in between to fill the stuffing .

To stuff the parathas

Fill in about 2 spoons of stuffing in it and seal it properly .

When you dab in the filling pull the upper remaining sides of the dough and stick them together to seal it and then again very gently roll it in your palms to smoothen it. Make sure its sealed properly and doesn’t break from anywhere.

To roll the paratha dough.  

Take a rolling board and a rolling pin. Clean it well and then sprinkle some dry wheat flour on the surface of the rolling board . So that the paratha does not stick to the rolling board while rolling.

Dab the stuffed dough in flour and then gently roll it out on a rolling board , try to make it round or you can make any shape as you like. 

Sprinkle some more flour on to the dough and the rolling board if the paratha is not moving easily or sticking to the rolling board

It’s ok if the onions are visible on the surface of the dough while rolling . Just make sure that the filling doesn’t come out while rolling . Hence roll out the parathas very gently.

Try to flip and roll it on both sides evenly . You can roll it into a round circular shape because that is the easiest way to make it.

To roast the cheese parathas

Heat a flat pan or skillet and put this rolled out paratha to roast on the pan.

Roast it one side and then flip it and roast it on the other side

Let it roast properly and change color a little bit , this tends to cook fast if the flame is on high and tend to burn , we don’t want that . so keep the flame on medium and roast it evenly on both the sides. First let it roast on both sides and then you can dab the spatula on it to cook the uncooked portions.

And then you can add ghee or oil any one of these as per your choice on a medium high flame . Make sure its properly roasted and if you want it to become crispy just roast it on a low medium flame instead of medium high , that way it will take time to roast and hence become crispy after applying ghee. Apply ghee on both sides and keep flipping it till its cooked on both sides.

Once properly roasted on both sides the parathas are ready to serve
